A guided autumn hike will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Lithia Springs Reservoir in South Hadley. The trek, led by Conservation Administrator Rebekah Cornell and members of the Friends of the Mount Holyoke Range, will explore vernal pools, nesting owl trees, and other natural features. Participants will learn about local land conservation and recreation efforts during this free, family-friendly event.
Meet at the Hiker Parking Lot on Amherst Road/Route 116 (next to 502 Amherst Rd). Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and carpool if possible. The route covers about three miles of moderate terrain, with some muddy sections. Free blaze orange hats—either knit or baseball—will be provided by the South Hadley Health Department to promote safety during fall hiking.
