Discover a Treasure Trove of Prewar Jewish & Polish Life
The Yiddish Book Center presents a talk with author and translator Piotr Nazaruk on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM at 1021 West Street, Amherst. Nazaruk will discuss the discovery of over 2,700 photographic glass plates found in a Lublin attic in 2010, offering a glimpse into everyday Jewish and Polish life between 1913 and 1930. He will also speak on the vanished library of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, one of the greatest mysteries from postwar Lublin.
