Straw Dog Writers Guild will host a virtual presentation, “The Quintessential Query,” on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Zoom. Literary agent Cathie Hedrick-Armstrong of Marsal Lyon Literary Agency will guide authors through the process of writing a query letter that captures agents’ attention and improves odds of moving past the “slush pile.” The session covers adult fiction genres including romance, mystery, suspense, and horror.
