The Sunderland Public Library, in partnership with Adventure East, will host an Indigenous History Walk on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The program takes place at Wissatinnewag, a site with 12,000 years of continuous occupation.
The walk will be led by David Brule and Brent Pitcher of the Nolumbeka Project. Topics include the site’s history, Native American agricultural practices, land conservation efforts, and an overlook of the Connecticut River and Turners Falls Dam. The program is open to ages 10 and up.
