The Sounds2Syntax Lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is recruiting children with a language impairment (ages 4-8) for a study on language and executive functions.
Your child may be eligible to participate if they are currently receiving speech/language therapy for communication skills. Children should be speaking in at least 2-3 word phrases.
The purpose of this research is to understand how skills like memory and flexible thinking are related to language comprehension and production.
Participants will complete standardized tests, a hearing screening, a language sample, and executive function tasks presented on a computer. Parents/legal guardians will complete questionnaires about their child’s behaviors and communication abilities.
All testing is done in the Sounds2Syntax Lab at UMass Amherst, and can be scheduled at your convenience. If you are traveling 10+ miles to our research lab, we reimburse mileage.
You will be paid $75 for participation.
