Amherst dog license renewal 2026

Amherst Dog Licenses Expire March 31: Renew by May 31, 2026

The Amherst Town Clerk’s Office reminds dog owners that annual dog licenses expire on March 31, 2026. All dogs six months or older must be licensed per state law. To avoid a $30 late fee, licenses must be renewed by May 31, 2026. A current rabies certificate is required. Proof of spay/neuter is needed for reduced fees.

Renew online via the payment portal, in person at the Town Clerk’s Office (Town Hall, 4 Boltwood Ave), or by mail with required documents and a self-addressed stamped envelope. First-time licensing must be done in person or by mail. For fees and details, visit the Dog Licenses webpage or contact the Town Clerk’s office at 413-259-3035 or townclerk[at]amherstma.gov.
