Belchertown Animal Control and BARC, Inc. are sponsoring an Equine Safety and Rescue Training workshop on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Greene Acres Equestrian Center, 51 Ware Road. Led by MSPCA’s Equine Rescue and Training Coordinators Roger Lauze and Kaycie McCarthy, the hands-on workshop will cover large animal body language, behavior, general safety, and use of equipment through simulated scenarios. The training is free for Belchertown first responders, veterinarians, vet techs, barn owners, large animal owners, and residents with a vested interest. Non-residents and others may attend for a $25 fee. Space is limited to 40 participants.
