ViewFinder Nature Photography Contest & Kids Workshops in Belchertown

All-Ages Photo Contest Runs March 21 – May 30

The ViewFinder Belchertown Nature Photography Contest, a juried all-ages competition, runs from March 21 through May 30, 2026. Photographs must be taken in Belchertown. Entries are judged in youth (up to age 17) and adult (18+) divisions across Wildlife, Landscape, and Macro/Up-Close categories. Winners will be celebrated at the Clapp Memorial Library on July 1, with winning photos displayed in the gallery through July.

Children’s Photography Workshops with Holly Field

Free kids’ photography workshops with Holly Field will be held at the Swift River School Gardens (57 State Street). Workshop dates: Tuesday, May 5, 3:15-5:00 PM, and Saturday, May 16, 1:00-3:00 PM. Photographers ages 1-18 are invited to explore the garden, take photos of landscapes and wildlife, and learn about submitting to the contest.

Library Staff Submission Support & Deadline

Clapp Memorial Library staff will help with photo submissions on Saturday, May 23 (10 AM-12 PM), Tuesday, May 26 (5:30-6:30 PM), and Wednesday, May 27 (5:30-6:30 PM). The submission deadline is Saturday, May 30. The program is supported by the Friends of Lake Wallace, Belchertown Creative Economy, Quabbin Photo Group, and the Town of Belchertown.
