Kestrel Land Trust “Rewilding” Speaker Series
Kestrel Land Trust will host a free online presentation, “Could Mountain Lions Return to Northeast Forests?” on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This is the first event in Kestrel’s “Rewilding” Online Speaker Series. Renee Seacor, Northeast Rewilding Director at Mighty Earth, will explore the past, present, and potential future of catamounts (cougars/mountain lions) through case studies, including historical forces behind their disappearance, ecological barriers to recovery, and examples of successful coexistence in other parts of the country.

Registration is required. A sliding-scale donation is optional. Note that Kestrel Land Trust is not involved in species restoration efforts, but land protection sets the stage for future wildlife restoration possibilities.
