Book Talk: Sefardi Herbalism at UMass

Author and ethnoherbalist Naomi Spector will discuss her book, Sefardi Herbalism: An Introduction to Earth, Water and Plant-Based Folk Traditions of the Sefardim, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The event will be held at the UMass Amherst Science & Engineering Library, located in the Lederle Lowrise building. Free parking is available in Lot 68. The book explores Sefardi relationships to plants, water, healing traditions, and spiritual practices from the medieval period through the diaspora.

Naomi Spector is an ethnoherbalist, educator, and co-founder of bibi + ni. She teaches courses on Jewish kitchen herbalism and amulets.
